Dreamwalkers: Drumming Puts Blood In The Veins Of The Songs

Good evening to all my Dreamwalkers out there.

Tuesday night I found out what great drumming can do for a song. Our wonderful drummer, Daniel Polyak (The Heartbeat) was sensational as he put magic in two of our songs, Debbie's "How I Love To Love You," a spiritual homage to her love of God, and my tribute to rock and roll, "Music Is The Ride." When we listened to the scratch tracks I felt like both are good songs, but something was lacking. Found out what it was. Passion. All of a sudden, there was blood running through the veins. The songs became alive. Daniel Polyak was playing with his heart, soul, and feelings.

In addition, I was able to observe the interplay between Daniel and Patrick Russini, Executive Producer and Sound Engineer, two drummers, speaking the same language. Their communication and ability to get certain effects efficiently was impressive.

Wait until you hear these songs when they are complete. Listening to Debbie's song with Daniel's drums gave me chills. I was thrilled with how my own song sounded. Drums for the album will be completed next week and we can begin recording the bass guitar, and then bring on the guitars, keys, and vocals. We are picking up steam. I am in awe of what happened this evening. Hopefully we will be playing out soon as well.

Peace,

Dr Dreamwalker
