New Lyrics: Last Transformation of This Man

A few days ago, I spoke about my writing process. As luck would have it (some would say it isn't luck), the inner writer was activated. These days seem to be pushing us, both as a society and individuals, towards transformation. It occurs to me, as a species, we have to transform or die. The clock is ticking. So here are some new thoughts turning into a song.

Last Transformation of This Man by Dr Dreamwalker (Richard Schulman)

Kids are healthy they are grown

Spread their wings, now they have flown

Ex wives with husbands of their own

Here I find myself alone

Can’t tell if I’m warm or I’m cold

Symptoms come symptoms go

Getting younger or growing old?

Heart open painful raw exposed

It’s the last transformation of this man

Heading into the unknown

Wish I knew God’s plan

Weary to the bone

No buffer no safety zone

Is pain of the heart anxiety’s call?

Won’t find passion staring at the wall

I search the darkness for insight

A shadow yields to any light

Emotions hold arthritic seeds

Independent man with no needs

A pretty voice must learn to sing

Tell your story make it ring

It’s the last transformation of this man

Heading into the unknown

Wish I knew God’s plan

Weary to the bone

No buffer no safety zone

Friends I say, I had the most

Most have turned into ghosts

Those who remain have golden hearts

They are my candles in the dark

The camera’s iris is stuck unfurled

Not quite reborn, enter a new world

Unsure of the path I am to hold

Hard to let it just unfold

It’s the last transformation of this man

Heading into the unknown

Wish I knew God’s plan

Weary to the bone

No buffer no safety zone

Peace,

Dr Dreamwalker
