Dreamwalkers: Joy In Music and Harmony

Good morning to all my Dreamwalkers out there,

Dreamwalkers Band is getting ready for our March 19 gig at Myakka Moonlighters and we hope you will all join us. The rehearsals with drummer David Dolnick are filled with energy and new life pulsing through the songs. The entire group is inspired and the result is an excitement infusing the songs with passion and bringing in new original songs and covers.

David Dolnick will be singing several songs he loves including covers of the Grateful Dead's "I Know You Rider" and "Friend of the Devil" along with Chris Issak's great "Wicked Game." Dave Ross began working on "Soulshine" a wonderful Allman Brother's tune and we played David Bowie's "Space Oddity" which Dave takes the lead on. We all listened and played with awe of Debbie Stern's rendition of "Runaway" the classic Del Shannon song covered by Bonnie Raitt. Debbie's leadership in harmony singing (after all she is the Queen of Harmony) is bringing our efforts to a much higher level than ever before. When harmonies are on point, the effect is sublime. Two part harmony is sweet, but three and even four part harmony will vibrate your being.

The band also worked on a few new original tunes by Debbie and I. While the covers are a blast to learn and play, our core as a group is original music. Debbie's contributed a new song, "Only One" and we worked on my own "So Many Stars." It's really amazing to be singing your own song with the support of great musicians, and have them jump in with ideas and suggestions that move the process into a higher realm.

Finally, it's so cool to play alongside Tony Sheppard, a true guitar hero of mine. Smile for the camera, brother.

I'm having so much fun with the music and our band is vibrating with the Cosmos in such a sweet and powerful way. See everyone soon.

Peace,

Dr Dreamwalker
